Vad skall man kalla Ship to Gaza?

    Men sanningen kom fram!

  3. Lets get some facts out in the open:

Fact: Gaza is ruled by Hamas, a terror group as defined by the United States, the European Union, Israel, and several other countries. Hamas, whose formal charter calls for the annihilation of Israel, were elected by the people of Gaza as their leaders. The charter also declares that they will never negotiate peace with Israel.

Since Hamas took over control of Gaza, there have been more than ten thousand rockets fired over the border into Israeli towns and villages, including at schools, kindergartens, and community centers. There is still a state of war between Hamas’s Gaza and Israel, and the rockets still continue, though their number has been greatly reduced following Israel?s campaign against Gaza in 2008.

Fact: An Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, was kidnapped 4 years ago by Hamas and their supporters, and held in Gaza with no access to the Red Cross or any other external organization. Shalit’s father asked the organizers of the Palestinian flotilla to deliver a letter and a package to his son in Gaza, The organizers refused. This tells us something about the supposed ‘humanitarian’ character of the group.

Fact: Israel has closed the borders with Gaza, except for the entry of humanitarian supplies, until the leadership of Gaza commits to end its violence against Israeli civilians, and Gilad Shalit is returned home. (Israel had negotiated freeing hundreds of Hamas detainees ? many who were captured during terror missions against Israeli civilians ? in exchange for Gilad Shalit, but the deal was eventually rejected by Hamas.)

Fact: According to press interviews with the activists on the Gaza flotilla, they clearly knew that they would not be permitted to enter Gaza.

Fact: Israel had invited a delegation of the flotilla?’s activists to unload their cargo in the Israel port of Ashdod, and then, after security screening, to oversee the delivery of their cargo to Gaza via Israel land routes, but the activists’ leadership refused.

Fact: About one hundred trucks loaded with food, medication, and other supplies, enters Gaza from Israel every day. In addition, Israel supplies fuel to Gaza twice weekly.

Fact: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) informed the activists’ ships that they could either unload their cargo peacefully and have it delivered to Gaza via Israel or turn back. Otherwise, they would be boarded by the IDF. They were warned not to use violence against the IDF.

Fact: As shown on Israel TV channels over the past few days, Israel had prepared a special holding compound in the Israel port of Ashdod, in case the ships would need to be towed to Israel. The compound contained air-conditioned tents, with chairs, beds, blankets, food, drink, and was staffed by specially trained multi-lingual personnel and a field medical team.

Fact: When the ships refused to turn back, IDF troops boarded them. The troops were met with activists wielding knives, clubs, and axes that had been removed from the ships’ fire prevention stations. According to reports, one of the first IDF on the deck was attacked by about 50 knife and axe wielding activists one of whom managed to seize the soldiers rifle and began firing at the Israeli troops (witnesses claim that he may have hit some of the activists). The activist was immediately shot. This triggered an armed confrontation in which most of the ship?s casualties occurred. At least six IDF soldiers were also injured.

Fact: The IDF troops had been instructed to try to avert violent confrontation at all costs, and only to use their weapons if their lives were endangered. That is the reason it took so long for the Israeli troops to take control of the ships. (If these had been military ships, the whole operation would have been conducted very differently and there would have been many more casualties.)

Fact: The injured (both activists and Israeli troops) were airlifted by the IDF to hospitals in Israel.

This flotilla is not carrying a group of human rights advocates peacefully trying to help the ”poor people of Gaza”. This was an aggressive violent group of Hamas supporters, adorned by a few naïve and misled but well-intentioned people, whose main goal was a propaganda campaign against Israel. As part of that campaign, they intended to generate as much provocation and confrontation as possible.

Sadly they got what they wanted.

Låt dem brinna i helvete!!
